General Statement of Duties Provides leadership and management of technology systems and services to support the mission and goals of the district. This includes the planning, development, implementation, management, and maintenance of all applications, infrastructure, security, networks, and technology training, as well as comprehensive support for the teaching and learning activities of the staff and students. Position Requirements &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Education: A degree in technology or related field &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Experience: A minimum of five years of network, hardware, and software management preferred. Previous supervisory experience and/or three years teaching experience preferred. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Physical requirements: Must have the ability to sit and stand for extended periods; exhibit manual dexterity to use phone and computer; see and read computer screen and printed material with or without visual aids; hear and understand speech at normal office levels, classroom levels, and on the phone; and to bend, stoop, climb stairs, climb ladder, lift to 50 lbs, walk and reach overhead. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Other requirements: Valid, current driver&#8217;s license. Excellent written and verbal communication, strategic planning, problem-solving, organization, time management, and conflict-resolution skills. Ability to keep information confidential. Skills and Abilities &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Understand the intrinsic nature of hardware configurations, software, and other computer-related items. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Read, write, and speak effectively. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Work well with coworkers, public entities, educational professionals, etc. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. &#9679;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Interpret various instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Leadership & Communications 1.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Manages the hiring process for technology staff; assigns staff accordingly. 2.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Responsible for training, supervision, and evaluation of technology staff 3.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Facilitates district-wide technology in-services, classes, or programs for staff, including modeling practical use for staff and students. 4.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Engages staff in the evaluation and selection of new software, hardware, and materials to support instructional objectives 5.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Respect and practice confidentiality concerning records, activities, and communications relating to all students, parents/guardians, and staff Network Design and Maintenance 6.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Oversees technology procedures, regular system backups, inventory management, and device deployment, etc. 7.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Works with outside sources such as support, suppliers, architects, engineers, and contractors 8.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Configures and maintains network, security, and peripheral devices 9.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Maintains licensing, inventory, and warranty records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. Strategic Planning 10.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Guides the planning, design, and installation of future network expansions as growth demands and in accordance with the district instructional technology plan. Areas include district servers, LANs, switches, routers, computers, Student Information System (SIS), data libraries, software, email, internet and intranet. 11.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Responsible for the department budget, which includes district funds and outside resources such as E-Rate and available grants 12.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Attend meetings, trainings, and seminars as deemed appropriate by the district 13.&#8194;&#8194;&#8194;Performs other duties as assigned.
