Preferred candidate will have a passion for learning, good communication and classroom management skills, and be able to engage with students and parents for a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will bring energy, compassion, and a deep commitment to student learning and development. We are seeking an individual who will be skilled in building strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues and bring a growth mindset to the classroom and school community. About Our School: Crookston, MN is located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota and has a population of approximately 7,800. We are a close-knit learning community dedicated to academic excellence, social-emotional growth, and strong partnerships with families. We serve a diverse population of students and families and take pride in our supportinve staff, community values, and student-centered aproach to education. Agriculture is a very strong part of our community. University of Minnesota-Crookston campus is located here and is a very strong member and supporter of our community. Located just 25 miles east of Grand Forks, ND, we are close to the University of North Dakota, ample shopping, dining, an international airport and more. District enrollment size is approximately 1060 students, with the high school about 590 students grade 6-12; Highland Elementary School about 479 students grade K-5. Key Responsibilities: * Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment * Design and implement standards-based instruction in core subject areas * Foster strong relationships with students and maintain high expectations for learning * Communicate effectively and regularly with families to support student success * Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to enhance instruction and meet the needs of all learners * Use data to inform instruction and promote academic growth * Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative school culture Qualifications: Applicant must have current elementary MN teaching license issued by the Professional Educator License Standards Board (PELSB) or the ability to obtain licensure by Fall 2025. Preferred candidate will have experience or a strong interest in rural education settings; demonstrated ability to connect with students from diverse backgrounds; strong communication and interpersonal skills; a passion for education, learning, and community involvement; and a commitment to fostering equity and inclusion in the classroom.
