Position Summary:
Eden Prairie High School is seeking a dynamic, dedicated, and experienced Varsity Head Wrestling Coach to lead our wrestling program. The ideal candidate will promote a positive and competitive environment, foster athlete development both on and off the mat, and uphold the high standards of Eden Prairie athletics.
Responsibilities:
* Provide leadership and direction to the wrestling program, including varsity and feeder levels.
* Plan and conduct all practices, competitions, and events in alignment with MSHSL regulations.
* Develop athletes’ technical skills, strength, and sportsmanship.
* Foster a culture of respect, discipline, and academic achievement.
* Coordinate with assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and school administration.
* Manage program logistics, including scheduling, communication, and equipment.
* Engage with families and the Eden Prairie community to promote the wrestling program.
* Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes.
Qualifications:
* Previous high school or collegiate coaching experience preferred (head coaching experience a plus).
* Strong knowledge of wrestling techniques, strategies, and MSHSL rules.
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to serve as a role model and mentor for student-athletes.
* Current or willing to obtain required certifications (First Aid/CPR, Concussion Training, etc.).
* Must meet Eden Prairie School District and MSHSL coaching requirements.
