This position provides leadership in curriculum development, instructional support, assessment coordination, and literacy initiatives. As the cooperative&#8217;s District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) and Literacy Lead for READ Act compliance, the specialist ensures all testing and literacy initiatives align with state requirements and best practices. Through collaboration, coaching, and data-driven decision-making, this role empowers educators and supports student success. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: * District Assessment Coordinator (DAC) * Testing (MCAs, MTAS, Access, ACT) * Trainings throughout year * Attend monthly meetings * regional District Assessment Coordinator - Curriculum Coordinator and Testing * Ordering, coordinating and distribution of materials * Training for DAC and staff * Developing a testing calendar * District Literacy Lead * Attends regional District Literacy Leads meetings * READ Act Trainer * Provides MDE READ ACT open office hours * Ongoing training of new staff in CORE * Provide new Literacy training for paras * Implementation of READ Act Requirements * Literacy Screeners * Curriculum Requirements * Intervention Research * Curriculum Leadership * Attend monthly regional Local Certified Facilitator Community of Practice * Updates Curriculum website all the resources and works with programs on needs * Coaching/Professional Development * Support to teachers on implementation of curriculum * CORE Training professional development for staff * Support Care and Treatment programs&#8217; professional development needs of staff * Lead Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) QUALIFICATIONS: * Master&#8217;s Degree in Reading, Education, Special Education, or Curriculum and Instruction * MN Educator license through PELSB * Minimum of 5 years English Language Arts teaching experience in the classroom or related fields such as psychology and speech-language pathology; preferred teaching experience within a special education federal setting 4 program * Systems Level Leadership or comparable experience; preferred experience as a District Assessment Coordinator or similar role * Experience planning, implementing, and evaluating district wide initiatives * Experience in leading diverse groups, leadership teams, and PLCs; addressing inequities; and supporting change and transformation in systems * Data Collection/Analysis * Completion of one of the MDE approved Professional Development programs (CAREIALL; OL&LA or LETRS for Educators); preferred OL&LA Certified Facilitator ABOUT MAWSECO: MAWSECO is an agency of seven-member school districts (Annandale, Dassel-Cokato, Delano, Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted, Litchfield, Maple Lake and Rockford) that have joined together to provide services in the area of special education.
