0.44 FTE High School Dakota Studies & Dakota Language Teacher - Redwood Area School District is seeking applicants for a 0.44 FTE High School Dakota Studies & Dakota Language teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. A Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred and a Minnesota Teaching License is required. This position will develop materials and lesson plans; conduct instruction; regularly evaluate instructional material for grade appropriateness; and continually assess student development and performance all in a fully proficient manner; develop curriculum and a scope and sequence around Dakota Language 1, 2, and 3 courses both creating synchronous and asynchronous opportunities for student learning. Procuring materials and resources to create robust language learning.
Strong skills in Dakota language and culture and a deep knowledge of the history and culture of Dakota and Ojibwe tribes of Minnesota is required. This position also requires strong collaboration with staff and administration, development of educational activities, maintaining student progress reports, and enhancing family relationships. The ideal candidate will support the professional development and learning experiences for students, staff, and community members in Dakota language and culture. Salary for this position is $19,580.
