Job Description:
St. Michael Catholic School is seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and dynamic Student Support Assistant
to join our team. This position plays a key role in helping students in grades 5-8 build the academic, social-emotional, and developmental skills necessary to thrive in the classroom and beyond. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about creating positive learning environments and working closely with teachers to support students' growth.
Qualifications:
Experience with students in grades 5-8 preferred
Experience or interest in training for executive functioning skills and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) to meet the needs of learners
Practicing Roman Catholic, following the precepts of the Church
The ideal candidate will have:
An understanding of, commitment to, and passion for the mission of Catholic education and being a credible witness of the Catholic faith
Ability to contribute to a culture of: (1) faith in Christ and the Catholic Church that is mature, informed, accountable, and dynamically missionary; (2) respect for the dignity, freedom, responsibility, and social vocation of the human person made in God’s image; and (3) human excellence reinforced through high, yet reasonable expectations for learning and virtuous interactions among all members of the school community
A keen ability to relate with adolescents and be student-centered
A willingness to collaborate with other teachers and make data-driven decisions
High expectations and an enthusiastic approach to working with student and other team members
Experience integrating technology into both teaching and learning (use of SMART Boards, Chromebooks, and Google Classroom)
Training in Responsive Classroom philosophy
A strong work ethic balanced with the ability to laugh and share the joy of learning

Fully accredited through MNSAA, St. Michael Catholic School is a PreK-8 program just 35 miles northwest of the Twin Cities. Student enrollment is approximately 495.
