Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Provides clerical and project assistance to employees.
* Makes students, employees, and visitors welcome in the office.
* Assists students, employees, and visitors with inquiries, engages in general problem solving, and refers questions to the appropriate person when needed.
* Answers telephones, reviews voice mail messages and correspondence, and responds appropriately.
* Completes general office duties as directed.
* Compiles data in preparation for creating reports and disseminates to supervisor.
* Creates, monitors, and maintains accurate records, databases, and other documents.
* Creates, proofreads, and reviews reports, correspondence, contracts, records, and other documents.
* Provides accurate data with confidentiality from maintained documents.
* Processes incoming and outgoing mail and other correspondence.
* Completes bulk mailings when needed.
* Contacts offices, departments and agencies to coordinate and exchange information.
* Maintains a proper inventory of office supplies and equipment.
* Assists with departmental activities and their preparation.
* Manages, monitors, and updates district-based websites, as directed.
* Assists in the management of departmental budgets.
* Other duties as assigned.
POSITION: Department Specialist - Classification A (12 months)
LOCATION: District Office
HOURS PER DAY: 8 hours/day
DAILY SCHEDULE: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday
DAYS PER YEAR: 12 month position
RATE OF PAY: The wage for this position ranges from $26.14 to $34.16 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. Most candidates will start at the entry-level rate of $26.14 per hour. However, experienced candidates with prior work experience in a related field may be eligible for a starting rate of up to $30.84 per hour. These decisions will be made on a case-by-case basis, in consideration of the individual’s experience and the school district’s budget.
