This position serves as the Principal of a High School (Grades 8-12) of approximately 1200 students and over 75 professional staff. Our High School is known for its robust College-in-the-Schools program, is a leader in Project Lead the Way, offers Academies of Albert Lea (College and Career Pathways), and has an outstanding tradition in athletics and the fine arts. Albert Lea High School is a member of the Big 9 Athletic Conference and High Reliability School Level 1 and Level 2 Certified. In particular, we are looking for a collaborative leader that has a considerable background in curriculum and instruction. The preferred candidate will also have experience with a successful school-to-work program and the ability to build partnerships with our business community. Previous administrative experience at the secondary level is preferred. All applicants must have a valid Minnesota Principal License at the secondary level. Job Summary: Under the direction of the Superintendent, the High School Principal is responsible for providing educational leadership by implementing educational and district initiatives at the building level and for directing, supervising and overseeing all school improvement programs, safety and building operations, personnel and instructional activities within the building. The High School Principal collaborates and works closely with other administrators, staff, students and the public in addressing and meeting the educational needs and goals of the District, its students and its families, and in performing various public relation responsibilities within the community.
