Primary Responsibilities include the following:
* Working with students needing additional assistance to be successful behaviorally in a classroom or other school setting
* Supporting and training both certified and noncertified staff in developing District wide behavior intervention training
* District wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS) planning and implementation
* Behavioral data collection and analysis and District wide training for use and implementation
* Supporting students by building relationships and teaching skills that will support positive behaviors
* Communicate with staff and students regarding students’ needs and behavioral progress
* Daily behavior management and intervention duties

Job Summary:
The Dean of Students serves as a critical leader within the PreK-12 educational setting, responsible for fostering a positive school culture, promoting student engagement, and ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all students. This position involves collaborating with faculty, staff, students, and parents to implement initiatives that enhance student well-being, academic achievement, and behavior management.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Student Support and Engagement:
* Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote student well-being, character development, and engagement.
* Serve as a primary point of contact for students seeking support or guidance regarding academic, social, or emotional issues.
* Coordinate and facilitate student orientation and transition programs for new students.
* Facilitate building Student Support Team meetings.
2. Behavior Management:
* Oversee the implementation of the school's discipline policies and procedures.
* Conduct investigations into student behavioral issues and manage appropriate disciplinary actions, ensuring fairness and consistency.
* Collaborate with teachers and staff to create and implement positive behavior intervention strategies.
3. Collaboration and Communication:
* Work closely with teachers, counselors, and administrators to address student needs and foster a collaborative school environment.
* Engage with parents and guardians to build strong partnerships and support student success.
4. Crisis Management:
* Serve as a part of the building’s crisis intervention team and respond to emergencies involving students.
* Develop and implement strategies for conflict resolution and mediation among students.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols and school policies related to student safety.
5. Program Development:
* Collaborate with school leadership to develop and evaluate programs aimed at improving student outcomes and school climate.
* Monitor and assess the effectiveness of programs, making recommendations for improvement as necessary.
6. Data Analysis and Reporting:
* Collect and analyze data related to student behavior, attendance, and academic performance to identify trends and areas for improvement.
* Prepare reports and presentations for school leadership and stakeholders regarding student engagement and disciplinary matters.
Qualifications:
* Master’s degree in Education, Educational Leadership, or a related field (required).
* Valid state teaching certification and administrative certification (or in progress to obtain).
* Minimum of [5 years] experience in K-12 education, with demonstrated experience in student support services or administration.
* Strong understanding of student development, behavior management strategies, and educational best practices.
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of students, parents, and staff.
Skills:
* Strong leadership and organizational abilities.
* Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain a positive attitude in a dynamic environment.

Working Conditions:
