Library Media Specialist Rochester Beacon Academy is seeking a Literacy Lead for the 2025-2026 school year. Rochester Beacon Academy (RBA) is a 6th-12th-grade charter school that places a strong emphasis on providing individualized attention to students. The school has small class sizes, allowing teachers to provide students with focused and personalized instruction. RBA also has a special focus on serving students with special education needs, with close to 80% of the student body receiving such services. The administration and staff are dedicated to providing these students with the support and resources they need to succeed in school and beyond. RBA has a caring and compassionate culture, with teachers and A licensed Library Media Specialist (K&#8211;12) promotes digital and information literacy, collaborates with educators to enhance instruction through technology integration, and manages library/media center operations and resources Your job responsibilities includes but are not limited to: * Deliver instruction in research, media literacy, and digital citizenship * Support classroom teachers in integrating technology and literacy into instruction * Manage and maintain library collections, technology, and digital tools * Curate and evaluate instructional resources to support student learning * Provide staff development on emerging educational technologies * Promote student engagement through reading initiatives and multimedia projects * Maintain compliance with ethical and legal standards for information access Competences: * Instructional design and classroom integration * Technology fluency (hardware, software, digital tools) * Strong communication and collaboration skills * Organizational and project management abilities * Knowledge of educational media and current literacy strategies * Commitment to equity, access, and lifelong learning Qualifications: * Valid Minnesota teaching license in Library Media Specialist (941000) * Strong background in information literacy, technology integration, and digital tools * Preferred: Experience teaching in a K&#8211;12 environment and managing a library/media program Pay: Negotiable Benefits: * Paid time off Schedule: * School Year: .15 FTE during the academic year * Summer: Schedule and hours may vary based on program need * In person Environment and Physical Demands: * Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting (books, equipment up to 25 lbs) * Regular use of computers and other digital devices * May need to move shelving, furniture, or tech carts * Able to perform light physical tasks required for managing a library/media space.
