Math and Science Academy is hiring for a Study Hall Monitor to start the week of August 18th (exact start date TBD), 2025. This is a school calendar based position, with some non-student contact dates as assigned. The Study Hall Monitor at MSA provides supervision and support to students during before school and classroom time study hall. The Study Hall Monitor may provide guidance to students on assignments and support as the school's Administration sees fit. Required: Friendly, approachable personality. Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is preferred. Schedule: Student contact days (school calendar based employee) from M-F 7:30am-4:00pm. FLSA: Non-Exempt Pay: $18-21 based on experience Benefits: MSA offers a generous benefits package and 10 days of paid time off to this position. Reports to the MSA High School Principal. Essential Duties: * Establishes a rapport with students * Supervises before school study hall and during school study hall periods * Redirect students as needed * Assist students with transitions between activities/classes * Be a positive role model, modeling school appropriate behavior at all times. * Communicate questions/concerns through proper channels. * Ensure PSEO and other students remain on task and use their time appropriately * Study Hall Monitors or Administrators may revise procedures or assign seats for health and safety reasons or to address behavior concerns * Additional duties as assigned. Miscellaneous Duties: a. Promotes the MSA Mission and Vision in all communications and interactions. b. Embodies MSA Core Values in daily activities. c. Treats all students in an equitable manner. Physical Job Requirements: Physical requirements associated with the position can be best summarized as follows: o Standing/walking throughout the shift. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise moveobjects, including the human body. ● Hazardous Working Conditions o Duties are performed in a typical school setting. There are minimal environmental hazards and risks associated with the nature of the work.
