Summary Deer River High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher to join our educational team. This full-time position will involve teaching science subjects to students in grades 7 through 12, fostering a love for science, and encouraging critical thinking and inquiry-based learning. The ideal candidate will be committed to creating an engaging and inclusive classroom environment that supports diverse learning styles and promotes student achievement. Responsibilities - Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with state and national science standards for grades 7-12. - Deliver high-quality instruction in various science disciplines. - Assess and evaluate student performance through various methods, including tests, projects, and laboratory work, and provide constructive feedback. - Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for science. - Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary projects and initiatives that enhance the science curriculum. - Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and progress. - Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational practices and advancements in science education. - Supervise students during labs, field trips, and other school-related activities, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols. - Contribute to the school community through participation in meetings, committees, and extracurricular activities as needed. Salary - In accordance with the current DREA contract. Requirements - Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Science Education or a related field. - Valid MN teaching license for grades 7-12 in Science; General Science (5-8) and Life Science (9-12) preferred. - Strong knowledge of science content and pedagogy, with the ability to teach multiple science subjects. - Previous teaching experience in a high school setting is preferred. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. - Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. - Proficiency in using technology and educational software to enhance teaching and learning. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
