Job Summary:
On-Site point of contact representing the District as a liaison for facility use and facility use supervisors, according to District policies, procedures and guidelines. Provide excellent customer service to participants in community education and organizations using district facilities. Maintain safety and security of community members and facilities. Assist instructors, coaches, and group leaders with community education activities.
Essential job functions include the following:
On-site point of contact for Facility Use Supervisors:
* Serves as the initial Facility Use point of contact outside of school day and extended school day hours
* Provides point of contact and support for after hours customer needs on the Facility Use phone line
* Oversees and directs Facility Use Supervisors on proper procedures and steps in addressing situations
* Work closely with the Facilities Use team and other District staff to manage the logistical scheduling for high-volume facility users. Review all event plans to ensure on-site staff are informed of both real-time needs and preparations for all functions
* Under the direction of the Community Education Specialist, assists with hiring, developing, and training casual Facility Use Supervisors and Stadium Supervisors.
Provides excellent customer service to participants and organizations using the facilities by:
* Greeting guests and providing directions to event locations
* Monitoring the activities of individuals who use the facilities or attend events
* Accommodating whenever possible the special requests that users may have that were not anticipated
* Respond promptly to requests from colleagues and community members
* Communicating in a manner that serves to diffuse confrontations
Maintain safety and security of individuals and facilities by:
* Opens and closes classrooms, gyms, fine arts facilities, and other spaces as scheduled
* Monitors daily activities ensuring that facility users are following District policies, procedures and guidelines as well as any County, State, and/or Federal Guidance
* Monitors facilities and grounds use by conducting walk-throughs and positively connecting with user groups.
* Securing the building at the end of the shift includes ensuring that all facility users have left the premises, turning off lights, checking and locking appropriate doors, and notifying custodians of departure before leaving the building
* Supports District policy and rules regarding facility use including addressing behavior of minors with adults responsible for user groups
* Asks unauthorized or unsupervised people to leave the building
* Demonstrates knowledge of safety and emergency procedures for the building of assignment, including building evacuation plans and effectively communicates them to all user groups in times of need
* Responding appropriately to emergencies and/or injuries; calling 911 if necessary
* Responsible for minor Blood Borne cleanups
* Promptly, completing and submitting required reports (accident/injury reports, facilities reports, incident reports) to Community Education
* Remaining alert to potentially unsafe situations and notifying custodians of unsafe conditions; stopping any unsafe or questionable activities
* Observes activities in and around the school to help prevent property damage and theft. Reports illegal activities to the police and Community Education office
* Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and follow documented work procedures
* Demonstrates prompt, regular and reliable attendance
Support enrichment classes and other community activities:
* Monitor and support youth participant drop-off and pickup for evening and weekend programs
* Support Community Education events, activities, camps, clinics and classes as needed
* Set-up may include AV equipment, chairs, tables, athletic equipment, and operating automated bleachers as requested by user groups
* Restoring the facility to neat and original condition, notifying the custodian of any extra garbage, and reporting
* any equipment or supplies that were broken
Other functions of the job include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Attending and participating in staff meetings and in-service training programs as requested
* Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
