The position is for up to 15 hours per week during the school year and is a B-21-rated position. The individual hired will assist in preschool classes and events. Job duties: * Working with ECFE/preschool students in both individual and small/large group settings to reinforce and practice concepts presented by the teacher. * Helping students to develop social skills and learn to respond appropriately to peers and staff members. * Assisting the Early Childhood /Preschool teacher in preparing the rooms and materials for classroom activities, as well as room clean up. * Participating in staff development, including staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training. Qualifications: * Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with diverse groups of students, parents, school staff, and administrators. * Experience with young children and an understanding of their developmental needs. * Bilingual applicants encouraged to apply. * High school diploma. * This position may involve stooping, standing, sitting on floor, and some light lifting. Pay/Benefits: Pursuant to SEIU Local 284 bargaining group master agreement salary schedule. Master Agreement is attached.
