Seasonal Election Support Specialist
Hopkins Public Schools is seeking Seasonal Election Support Specialists to assist with various election activities throughout the upcoming Board election period.
This is a temporary, part-time position: up to 8 hours per day, 2 days per week, ending on 11.03.2025.

Position Overview
Seasonal Election Support Specialists will provide customer service and operational support to ensure accurate, timely, and professional election services for our District. This role includes direct interaction with voters, processing absentee ballots, preparing election materials, and performing a wide range of clerical and administrative duties as needed.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Answer voter questions regarding election services.
  • Assist voters with in-person absentee voting.
  • Process absentee ballot requests, completed absentee ballots, and prepare ballots for tabulation.
  • Screen phone calls, respond to general inquiries, and route calls to appropriate personnel.
  • Provide election-related information to voters by telephone, email, written correspondence, and in person.
  • Assist in processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Prepare election materials for distribution.
  • Perform general clerical duties related to election operations.

Required Qualifications
Education
  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
Eligibility
  • Must be eligible to vote in Minnesota.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Restrictions
  • Cannot be a candidate, or the spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling, or stepsibling of a candidate on the ballot.
  • Cannot be domiciled (permanently or temporarily) with any candidate on the ballot.
  • Cannot serve as a candidate at the election.
Experience
  • No prior experience required.
  • Paid online training through Hennepin County provided.

Employment Type
  • Temporary, casual/part-time.
  • Assignment period: 2-3 days per week, up to 8hrs daily available/and as needed.
  • Ends 11.03.2025
  • $15 per hour.
