Description: Office Paraprofessional
Job Summary: This is a full-time position at Westwood, responsible for supporting the flow and function of the main office. This position is part of our building office team, which is collectively committed to being a high functioning team that provides exceptional service and support to our students, staff, families and each other. Working closely with administration, some of the functions of this role are to provided excellent customer service to all stakeholders, support the flow of services in and through the main office, attendance calling, assisting parents and students. Additional duties include preparing for major building events such as Open House, Parent Teacher Conferences, and registration, etc., and duties as assigned
Qualifications: Necessary qualifications include...
- holding either a high school diploma or a GED certificate;
- completed 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree OR receiving a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment;
- The ParaPro Assessment is available in the Human Resources Office and can be taken after a job offer is obtained, contact Human Resources with questions at 763-600-5010;
- Ability to pass pre-work physical and PCA training
- training and experience in the use of computers and other technology equipment;
- ability to act in a leadership role and independently initiate and follow through on tasks, under minimal supervision; and
- demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in working with students, families, and community representatives, and in collaborating with school personnel.

Preferences:
- Bilingual or multilingual candidates preferred
- Previous experience in an education setting preferred
- Experience with Infinite Campus
- Background with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and Google Docs/resources
Candidate must be able to handle confidential information, perform tasks proficiently while handling frequent interruptions, and possess good communication skills. Candidate must have excellent customer service skills. Personal skills must include a professional, friendly, positive, and cooperative work style and the ability to work with many types of people in different circumstances. Previous office management, secretarial, or bookkeeping experience is required, as well as above average word processing keyboarding and other clerical skills including extensive background in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel, as well as Google suite of tools.
