GREAT Theatre''s Drama Workshop Program engages elementary students in theatre exploration using body, voice, and imagination to create exciting characters and stories. GREAT partners with various community organizations to offer workshops after school. As a teaching artist you are responsible for creating a fun and nurturing learning environment that engages youth in creative play appropriate for their developmental ages. You’ll be responsible for teaching weekly drama workshops, focusing on the process of storytelling, developing life skills, and building community. In this role you live out GREAT’s mission of building life skills through quality arts education, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all, and eliciting joy, empathy and self-discovery through live theatre experiences.
As a Teaching Artist, you’ll get to
- Inspire youth to create, play, and develop confidence and a sense of community through theatre arts
- Collaborate and co-teach weekly workshops of 10-30 students of all backgrounds and abilities at out-of-school youth organizations throughout the St. Cloud area
- Implement and adapt daily activities and lessons based on provided theatre curriculum
- Establish a welcoming learning environment where students feel a sense of agency and belonging
- Develop positive relationships with youth and adults to effectively communicate and ensure a safe learning environment
- Communicate effectively with GREAT staff
- Travel to various schools and after-school programs in the St. Cloud area
- Manage and maintain partner spaces following all facility and safety guidelines
As a Teaching Artist, you’ll get to

Salary: $18-$20/hour
Hours: Mon-Fri, approximately 5-10 hrs/week between the hours of 2:30-5:30pm.
Duration: 4 weeks between Oct 2025-April 2026 with potential for added weeks
Other Requirements:
- Candidates must be at least 18, per GREAT’s Child Safety Policy.
- Candidates must pass a state of Minnesota background check.
- The position will require providing your own transportation to local schools and after-school programs within the St. Cloud area.
