Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to join our team as an Administrative Assistant at the Albany Secondary School. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the school administration, ensuring smooth daily operations and contributing to a positive educational environment for students, staff, and parents. This full-time position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the management of administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, maintaining files, and managing correspondence.
- Serve as the first point of contact for parents, students, and visitors, providing exceptional customer service and addressing inquiries or concerns.
- Support the school administration in organizing events, meetings, and activities, including preparing materials and coordinating logistics.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, enrollment, and other relevant data, ensuring compliance with school policies and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, newsletters, and other communications for staff and families.
- Manage office supplies and inventory, including ordering and restocking as necessary.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to facilitate effective communication and support school initiatives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the school administration.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in office administration is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and comfortable with various office equipment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating professionalism and clarity.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated and resourceful.
- Familiarity with school policies, procedures, and regulations is preferred.
- Background check and clearances as required by state law and school district policy.
Wage/Hours:
- $18.13 - $22.12 per hour
- Contract is 213 days
- Full-time during the school year
- Hours are 7:30 am - 4:00 pm
