Long Term Substitute - School Counselor
Monticello High School
Up to 1.0 FTE - Temporary
Available through November 12, 2025
Job Summary:
MHS is seeking a long term sub for a High School Counselor to work part time to support the students and operations of MHS. The School Counselor provides direct and indirect services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
Licensure:
- Current School Counselor license with the Minnesota Department of Education
Experience:
- Experience in school counseling preferred
- Experience working with middlel school age students
- Experience/training with CLR (Culturally Linguistically Responsive) methods preferred
Essential Skills Required:
- Awareness of best practices for student counseling/procedures
- Effective communication and teaming skills, both verbally and in writing, with students, parents, teachers, administrators, community and staff
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and ethical practices
- Maintain confidentiality of information about students and families
- Experience working with diverse students and families
- Assist with supervision of students during non-academic education activities
Salary Range: $44,182 - $90,327 for 1 FTE per the current Faculty Master Agreement 2023-2025
