 POSITION:
 Cultural Liaison - African American (Multiple Positions), Secondary

 LOCATION:
 Central Middle School and Eden Prairie High School

 CLASSIFICATION:
 5

 RATE OF PAY:
 $27.81

 HOURS PER DAY:
 8

 START & ENDING TIME:
 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

 WORKING DAYS  PER YEAR: 
 185

 PAID HOLIDAYS:
 6
 POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:  EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • 2 year preferred in Education, Community Education, Social Work, multicultural Studies, Counseling or a related field, but not required. 
 EXPERIENCE:
  • Two years’ experience working in a similar role, preferably in a school setting working with families across cultures. 
 QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Commitment to equity and experience conducting outreach to underserved populations
  • Fluent in Somali or Spanish, proficient in both speaking and writing
  • Fluent in English, proficient in both speaking and writing
  • Experience working with educators to build on the cultural and language strengths and assets that students bring to the classroom and bridge cultures to develop intercultural fluency
  • Experience working with culturally and linguistically diverse families.
  • Knowledge of the Public School Education System. 
  • Knowledge of the Somali, Hispanic and/or African American culture
  • Self-directed, quick learner
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Computer and technology skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, familiarity with Google docs, and interest in and ability to learn new platforms
  • Commitment to maintain confidentiality
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation
