Position Title: Elementary School Teacher
FLSA Status: Exempt
Timeframe: 5 hours / week (4 hours of contact time; 1 hour of prep/week)
Start Date: October 27, 2025
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide instruction and monitor student progress of students in assigned classes and report student progress to parents; work with support staff and administration in dealing with student concerns in and outside of the teacher classroom
Select and prepare educational activities for the course and also in a weekly lesson plan format; the activities are aligned with district and state outcomes
Participate in meetings such as: building staff meetings, department meetings, grade level meetings, K-12 curriculum meetings, staff development meetings, parent-teacher conferences, open houses
Supervise students during the school day according to the established building supervision schedule as well as indirect supervision at all times during school activities
- Maintain current licensure for the areas assigned to teach.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises students.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Degree:
Bachelor''s Degree from an accredited university in Education or relevant instructional subject area.
License:
- Licensed teachers in the State of MN with appropriate licensure for assigned ares of responsbility or proof of pending approved licensure.
Experience:
- Prior successful experenice student teaching or teaching in an education setting.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various groups such as managers, students, teachers, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES: Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programming; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents and community; ability to speak clear and concisely in written or oral communication.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently walking and standing. The employee may frequently bend or twist at the neck and back while performing the duties of this job. Specific vision abilities required include peripheral vision and close vision such as to read typewritten material.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. The employee is frequently required to interact with the public and other staff. The employee is directly responsible for the safety, well-being and work out-put of students.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary:
Range: $45,276 - $84,035
Salary placement is based on experience and education level, as per district guidelines.
