Certified Cook

The Goodhue School is seeking applicants for the position of Certified Cook. Applicants must possess a strong work ethic, the ability to work as part of a team, and the desire to learn and grow. Prior experience in food service is positive but not required. Training will be provided for this position. 

HOURS:        

Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM - 1:30 PM.  All kitchen staff work approximately 175 days per school year.  The schedule aligns with the student school calendar (September through May).

PAY: Certified Cook pay range is from $17.22 to $20.00

BENEFITS:    This position does qualify for health insurance and other benefits

Job Description

Title:  Assistant Cook

Qualifications: 1.  Demonstrated aptitude for successful performance of the tasks listed.

2.  Certification of good health.

3.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Reports to: Food Service Director and/or Superintendent

Contract Length: As determined by the Board of Education

Job Goal: To serve the students with attractive and nutritious meals.

Responsibilities: 1.  Assist in the preparation and serving of food at the cafeteria counter.

2.  Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables, and furnishings in the dining area.

3.  Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service area.

4.  Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the head cook.

5.  Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.

6.  Maintain the trash and garbage collection areas in a neat and sanitary fashion.

7.  Participate in in-service training programs for professional standards.

8.  Perform such other cafeteria duties as may be assigned.
