POSITION STATUS: As-needed basis 

START DATE:  2025-2026 school year

COMPENSATION: $180 per day

North Lakes Academy (NLA) is a K-12 charter school located in Forest Lake, Minnesota, a community about 25 miles north of the Twin Cities metropolitan area. NLA operates an elementary campus (grades K-6) and a secondary campus (grades 7-12) and serves 425 students. At all grade levels, NLA’s key priorities are providing a small & safe community, building confidence & curiosity, and connecting learning & the environment. One way that we realize these priorities is by fostering the emotional intelligence of our students and building strong relationships between families, staff, and students. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Minnesota short-call substitute license or pilot substitute license

• Availability during school hours 7:15 AM to 2:15 PM

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Previous teaching or classroom experience

• Valid state teaching license or substitute teaching certification

• Strong classroom management skills

• Ability to adapt to different grade levels and subjects

• Experience working with diverse student populations

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

• Familiarity with school policies, procedures, and technology

JOB DESCRIPTION: North Lakes Academy Charter School is seeking experienced and reliable Substitute Teachers to provide classroom instruction on an as-needed basis. Substitutes are responsible for maintaining a structured and engaging learning environment while following lesson plans provided by the teaching staff.
