Information Systems Specialist
Education Service Center
40 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Salary based on Level 7 ($55,589 - $71,528 plus full-time benefits) of the current Program Assistant contract
Reports to Assistant Director of Technology
SUMMARY
The Information Systems Specialist is responsible for implementing systems and practices in the use of our student information system that lead to highly functional school operations, an effective customer experience that includes students, staff and parents, and reliable data for all stakeholders to make informed decisions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as the lead champion for the use of our student information system (SIS).
- Collaborate with schools and central departments to maximize their use of our SIS.
- Provide training on features and functionality within the SIS.
- Create systems for managing changes in data collection, user access, reporting, and practices related to enrollment that may take place throughout the district.
- Lead the efforts around various state and federal reporting requirements that involve student information.
- Oversee the records release practices include transcripts, educational data verification, directory information, and other legal records processing.
- Collaborate with the enrollment office on systems of practices and support for all users of the SIS.
- Document various practices and procedures to aid in continuity of use.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with student information system use and support.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for district-wide travel.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied physical environments.
- Previous experience working in a school environment
- Previous experience with developing queries and reporting features.
- Demonstrated ability to be detail oriented.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed in office and school building settings. The noise level is typically quiet. Occasional travel between district sites is required.
