Position Summary
Ortonville Public Schools is seeking a fully licensed Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated student support team.
The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for a Minnesota teaching license in Special Education, with a preference for candidates licensed in multiple disability areas — particularly Developmental Disabilities (DD).
This position serves students with a range of learning and behavioral needs and works collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to deliver individualized programming in alignment with students’ IEPs.
Qualifications
Must hold a current Minnesota teaching license in Special Education through PELSB (or be eligible for such licensure).
Preferred licensure areas include:
Developmental Disabilities (DD)
Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)
Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)
Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning environments.
Experience using evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.
Responsibilities
Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned to student IEPs.
Coordinate and communicate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff.
Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress.
Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
Participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and student support teams.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
