Position Summary

Ortonville Public Schools is seeking a fully licensed Special Education Teacher to join our dedicated student support team.
The ideal candidate will hold or be eligible for a Minnesota teaching license in Special Education, with a preference for candidates licensed in multiple disability areas — particularly Developmental Disabilities (DD).

This position serves students with a range of learning and behavioral needs and works collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to deliver individualized programming in alignment with students’ IEPs.


Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Minnesota teaching license in Special Education through PELSB (or be eligible for such licensure).

  • Preferred licensure areas include:

    • Developmental Disabilities (DD)

    • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)

    • Emotional or Behavioral Disorders (EBD)

    • Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD)

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and monitor IEPs.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Commitment to inclusive, student-centered learning environments.

  • Experience using evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies.


Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver specialized instruction aligned to student IEPs.

  • Coordinate and communicate with classroom teachers, families, and support staff.

  • Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress.

  • Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations.

  • Participate in IEP meetings, progress reporting, and student support teams.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation.
