The Long-Term Substitute Teacher will provide consistent, high-quality instruction during the extended absence of a classroom teacher. The successful candidate will uphold the school’s mission. They will also ensure continuity of rigorous instruction and maintain a positive, structured, inclusive classroom environment. The substitute teacher must also demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and commitment to student success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

·         Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned instruction in accordance with the school’s curriculum and academic expectations.

·         Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote student engagement, safety, and respect.

·         Maintain continuity of instruction, routines, and expectations established by the regular classroom teacher.

·         Assess student progress through formative and summative measures and provide timely, constructive feedback.

·         Utilize instructional technology and resources to enhance student learning experiences.

·         Communicate effectively and professionally with students, families, colleagues, and school leadership.

·         Participate in grade-level, department, and staff meetings, as well as relevant professional development opportunities.

·         Maintain accurate records for attendance, grades, and student performance as required.

·         Uphold all policies, procedures, and professional standards established by [Name of Charter School] and applicable state education regulations.

·         Perform additional duties as assigned by the Principal or designee to support the school’s educational mission.
