Description: Bilingual Office Paraprofessional
 
Job Summary:  This is a 7.0 hour per day (7.5 hour work day) position at Woodcrest Spanish Immersion Elementary in Spring Lake Park Schools.  The position requires a person with strong collaborative and communication skills that is technologically savvy, self-directed, a team player, culturally aware, and responsible.  The successful candidate will greet families and guests, answer phones and direct phone calls, assist with attendance, participate in safety team, perform typical clerical duties with accuracy in a school setting and provide student support throughout the building when needed.  

Qualifications: Candidate must be able to handle confidential information, perform tasks proficiently while handling frequent interruptions, multi-task, and possess good communication and problem-solving skills.  Candidate must have excellent customer service skills, creating a welcoming environment for students, families and staff.  Personal skills must include a professional, friendly, positive, and cooperative work style and the ability to work with many types of people in various circumstances.  Previous clerical experience (office management, secretarial, or book keeping) in an education setting preferred, as well as above average word processing/keyboarding and other clerical skills.  Preferred background in computer applications including Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and Infinite Campus.  


Additional necessary qualifications include...

  • holding either a high school diploma or a GED certificate;
  • completed 90 quarter or 60 semester college credits and/or AA degree OR receiving a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment;
    • The ParaPro Assessment is available in the Human Resources Office and can be taken after a job offer is obtained, contact Human Resources with questions at 763-600-5010;
  • Ability to pass pre-work physical and complete PCA training. 
  • training and experience in the use of computers and other technology equipment;
  • ability to act in a leadership role and independently initiate and follow through on tasks, under minimal supervision; and
  • demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills in working with students, families, and community representatives, and in collaborating with school personnel.


Bilingual candidates preferred (Spanish/English).

Position Hours: Monday - Friday 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Pay per paraprofessional contract
