Rockford Area Schools is seeking a Middle School Boys Basketball Coach (8th grade) for the upcoming winter season.

Position Overview

All coaches at Rockford Area Schools provide leadership, guidance, and instruction to student-athletes within their programs. The coach works closely with the 7th grade coach and varsity coach to determine the goals and direction of the program.

The coach is responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of all student-athletes on the team and for fostering a positive, respectful team environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and lead practices that develop player skills and teamwork

• Assist in scheduling competitions

• Assess player abilities and organize teams

• Communicate effectively with the Activities Director, parents, and players

• Model sportsmanship and positive leadership

Season Dates: January 5, 2026 – Late February
