Description: Modern Montessori Charter School is seeking a Literacy Lead, Intervention & ELL Teacher, 504 Coordinator. This person will play an essential role in the development and implementation of Structured Literacy practices, interventions, curriculum delivery, testing, and assessments across all grade levels (K-8th grade). 

Core Responsibilities:

Implement and Support Structured Literacy Practices:

• Facilitate the implementation of evidence-based literacy practices (PK-8), including curriculum delivery, teacher training, interventions, and professional development.

Data-Informed Instruction and Assessment:

• Coordinate and support the administration of universal and dyslexia screeners, ensure data literacy among staff, and guide data collection and analysis to inform instruction, interventions, and student learning plans.

• support selection, alignment, and evaluation of ELA curriculum and materials; and contribute to the development and submission of the Local Literacy Plan.

504 Coordinator:

• Responsible for overseeing compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, and ensure ongoing compliance with state and federal laws and regulations

• Manage 504 referrals, creation and implementation of 504 plans including appropriate accommodations and modifications

• Communicate effectively with staff, students and families

Staff and Stakeholder Collaboration:

• Train paraprofessionals and support staff, collaborate with educators and administrators, and engage families in student learning—especially for those not meeting grade-level benchmarks.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in reading, education, special education, or related field 

• Licensed by the Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) as a teacher of reading, a special education teacher, or a kindergarten through grade six teacher 

• Data Collection/Analysis

• Completion of one of the MDE approved Professional Development programs (CAREIALL, OL&LA or LETRS for Educators). Preferred - trained in OL&LA
