Elementary School Teacher – FTE 1.0

Job Summary
The Elementary School Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction in a K–8 environment through personalized learning, clear communication, and strong classroom community practices. This role includes planning and delivering engaging lessons; applying PBIS, Restorative Practices, and culturally competent approaches; supporting student growth and goal attainment; and contributing to Level Up Academy’s collaborative, teacher-powered culture.

Primary Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver personalized instruction aligned to curriculum standards.

• Create and maintain a positive educational climate by applying PBIS, Restorative Practices, and cultural competencies.

• Build meaningful relationships with students and families, fostering a welcoming and collaborative school environment.

• Maintain a learner’s mindset by implementing feedback, participating in professional development, and continuously refining instructional practices.

• Develop and adjust lesson plans throughout the year based on student needs and data.

• Maintain personalized learning plans and ensure student contributions are updated and monitored.

• Provide timely, constructive feedback to support academic growth and goal attainment.

• Manage classroom administration such as grading, communication, and documentation.

• Utilize the adopted curriculum with fidelity and provide recommendations to the Curriculum Committee when appropriate.

• Support behavioral growth and conflict resolution using PBIS and restorative practices.

• Contribute to the school’s teacher-powered structures, including leadership initiatives, retreats, and collaborative decision-making.

• Uphold and contribute to the school’s Vision Agreement, Team Matrix, and Code of Conduct (#weCODE).

• Write and implement individual student goals and objectives, collaborating with families to support student success.

• Effectively use instructional technologies and digital tools, including Google Apps for Education.

Required Qualifications

• Valid Minnesota teaching license in the appropriate field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of instructional content areas.

• Deep understanding of educational philosophy, instructional best practices, and student learning needs.

• Experience applying multicultural, gender-fair, and disability-inclusive curriculum principles.

• Skillful classroom management and organizational abilities.

• Strong written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.

• Proficiency with instructional technology and 21st-century learning tools.

• Experience with assessment-driven instruction and data-informed decision-making.

• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Sites).
