Position: Adventure Connection & FLIGHT Paraeducator Program Assistant
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8-hour split-shift between the hours of 6:30 am - 6:00 pm 
Start Date:  ASAP
Pay: $23.14 per hour

Summary: The Program Assistant works closely with individual students who need additional guidance to succeed in Adventure Connection and FLIGHT. Provide extra support to students, helping them build social-emotional skills, and set goals for positive growth. The Program Assistant meets weekly with students to check in, offer support, and work toward goals. This role works with students across seven elementary schools and two middle schools.

 Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Four years of experience working with school-age students
  • Experience with Social, Emotional Learning theory and curriculum
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in education, recreation, or other related fields is preferred.
  • Experience providing support services to elementary or middle school-aged students
  • Have a strong expertise in a wide variety of techniques and strategies for working with students with behavioral and developmental challenges.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and implement an individualized weekly lesson plan for each student in the caseload
  • Establish a consistent communication system with the site manager, parents, and site program assistants to inform them of the child’s progress and any important information to be aware of.
  • Conduct observations of students as necessary in our program setting.
  • Utilize a wide variety of techniques and strategies for working with students with behavioral and developmental challenges.
  • Attend trainings each year designed to strengthen their ability to develop SEL skills in students and their relationship-building skills when working with children.
  • Support students with diverse social, emotional, and behavioral needs by partnering with families to implement a plan that fosters success in Adventure Connection. 
  • Meet regularly with the Inclusion Facilitator to discuss student progress, share observations, and help determine appropriate supports and student placement on the inclusion support list
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
