Preschool Teacher Long Term Substitute (LTS) at Oneka Elementary School
Position Timeline: Posting closes midnight on 1/26/26 Candidate application review ASAP
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Date Range: Approximately 1/26/2026 - 2/20/2026 (possibility of up to April 3rd)
Salary: Per Pre-K Teacher''s Contract
Work week: 1.0 FTE, Monday-Friday
Student Level: Preschool, Students age 4
Education and/or Experience
MN Teaching License K-6 or 1-6 Elementary Education required.
Qualifications:
- Valid teaching license (or substitute license) required.
- Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Passion for teaching and a commitment to student success.
Position Overview:
This position involves delivering instructional services, supporting student development, and maintaining a productive learning environment. The role requires collaboration with staff, adaptability to student needs, and a commitment to both academic and social-emotional growth. This position works under the limited supervision of the Principal and may occasionally oversee paraprofessionals or volunteers.

- Provide effective instruction that meets the diverse needs and abilities of all learners.
- Implement engaging lessons using a variety of teaching methods and materials to support student understanding and growth.
- Support students in developing the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for future academic success.
- Demonstrate global competence by connecting classroom content to local and global issues, helping students understand the impact of their learning beyond the classroom.
- Foster a classroom culture of problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity.
- Prioritize the physical, social, and emotional well-being of students, recognizing the integral connection between social-emotional learning and academic achievement.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute positively to the school community.
- Show a strong sense of self-efficacy, holding high expectations for both student outcomes and professional responsibility.
- Maintain a flexible and energetic attitude, contributing to a supportive and collegial team environment.
