We take pride in being a multicultural community of students and staff committed to educating the whole person - mind, body and will - for peace, justice, freedom, compassion, wholeness and fullness of life for all. Preschool 4 Peace is a 4-Star Parent-Aware rated, Volutary PreK approved school readiness program designed for students the year before they enter Kindergarten. Students attending Preschool 4 Peace experience an academically-focused, play-based education and discover new learning through a variety of creative learning centers and activities. Preschool 4 Peace is a tuition free, all-day, every-day PreKindergarten program. There are two sections of PreK, with up to 18 students per section. Two paraprofessionals also support our Preschool program. We are seeking a PreK Teacher to join our PreK and our Elementary teams in the 2017-2018 school year. The qualified applicant will hold a MN Teaching license in Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education, have a strong understanding of the Minnesota Early Childhood Indicators of Progress, possess the ability to develop rapport with young learners and families of diverse backgrounds, and demonstrate an unyielding commitment to helping all students attain high academic and ethical standards of performance. At CPA, Responsive Classroom is implemented across all PreK-6 classrooms. If you have not taken RC training, we will pay for you to attend a one-week RC1 workshop in summer 2017. We also implement the PeaceBuilders program school wide. Your Mentor teacher will assist you in implementing PeaceBuilders. Home Visits have been a key component of the CPA tradition for over 20 years. Each fall, Teachers visit the homes of their students after school, usually in pairs or teams of three. All teachers are supported in their professional growth through weekly PLCs, structured common planning, and frequent observation and coaching.
