Qualifications
• Bachelor''s degree in Special Education or related field.
• Valid Minnesota Special Education Teaching License (PELSB) in one or more disability areas required.
• Knowledge of Minnesota special education due process requirements and IEP procedures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families.
General Description
Zumbrota-Mazeppa School District is seeking a full-time Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades 3-6. Provides instruction and case management services for students with disabilities in resource and/or general education settings. Work is performed under the supervision of building administration, and the Special Education Director. Provides direction and oversight to paraprofessional staff.
Responsibilities
• Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in resource and inclusive settings (3-6).
• Plan and deliver instruction addressing academic, functional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Serve as Special Education Case Manager by writing and implementing IEPs, facilitating meetings, monitoring progress, and completing required reporting.
• Collaborate with administration, general education staff, families, and outside agencies to ensure appropriate service delivery and due process compliance.
• Implement accommodations, modifications, and positive behavior interventions supporting student inclusion.
• Maintain student records, reports, and correspondence.
• Assist with district and state assessments.
• Train, support, and supervise paraprofessional staff.
• Support transition planning and postsecondary readiness as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Knowledge of MN special education programming, IEP goals, and state standards.
• Ability to support diverse academic, behavioral, sensory, and social-emotional needs.
• Experience implementing behavior supports, accommodations, and assistive technology strategies preferred.
• Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
