Job Summary: Under the general supervision of the School Principal, the Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) Teacher will facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing approved curriculum; documenting teaching and student progress/activities/outcomes; addressing specific educational needs of individual students and by creating a flexible, safe and optimal learning environment; and providing feedback to students, parents and administration regarding student progress, expectations, goals, etc. The FACS Teacher will provide instruction in areas such as nutrition and wellness, food preparation, financial literacy, personal development, family relationships, consumer skills, and career exploration. The position emphasizes hands-on learning experiences that help students develop practical life skills, problem-solving abilities, and responsible decision-making.
