The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking a dynamic Grades 6–8 Literacy Instructional Coach & Interventionist to strengthen literacy instruction and improve student outcomes across middle school grades.
This hybrid role focuses on both building teacher capacity and providing targeted student support, ensuring that all students develop the reading, writing, and language skills necessary for success. The position emphasizes instructional practices, using strategies to guide coaching, professional learning, and classroom implementation.
A central priority is ensuring alignment between curriculum, instruction, and Minnesota academic standards across classrooms and grade levels.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Coach for instructional excellence
- Provide job-embedded coaching (co-plan, model, observe, and provide feedback)
- Support teachers in implementing:
- Clear learning goals and success criteria aligned to standards
- Explicit, evidence-based literacy instruction
- Student engagement, discourse, and writing from text
- Ongoing monitoring of student learning
- Support consistent instructional practices across Grades 6-8
- Support the onboarding and mentoring of new teachers in our school district
- Literacy intervention (direct student support)
- Provide targeted literacy intervention for students requiring additional support
- Collaborate with teachers to align intervention with core instruction
- Curriculum & standards alignment
- Ensure literacy instruction is tightly aligned to Minnesota ELA standards
- Support teachers in:
- Ensuring rigor and coherence across grade levels
- Promote a guaranteed and viable curriculum across the district
- Use data to drive instruction
- Support teams in data-informed instructional decision-making
- Professional learning & collaboration
- Design and facilitate professional learning aligned to district literacy priorities
- Support implementation of MnMTSS with a strong Tier 1 foundation

Required Qualifications:
- Valid Minnesota teaching license in reading or relevant experience and willingness to seek a license with special permission from PELSB
- Bachelor''s Degree in relevant subject area
- Minimum 5-years of successful teaching experience
- Strong knowledge of adolescent literacy and evidence-based practices
- Understanding of standards alignment and data-informed instruction
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with intervention and/or instructional coaching
- Experience teaching middle school students
Contract:
1.0 FTE, 182 contract days plus 5 extra days for a total of 187 days beginning the 2026-2027 school year.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326.
