Birch Grove Community School, a small and unique K-5 elementary school located on the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior in Tofte, Minnesota, is currently looking for a Full Time Elementary Teacher to teach in our 4 th /5 th multi-grade classroom for the 2026-2027 school year. Requirements: A valid Minnesota Elementary K-5 Teaching license Successfully passing a background check Experience and success with the development and implementation of differentiated instruction A high level of energy that is focused on student growth The ability to interact positively with students, parents, staff and the community The ability to be flexible, self-motivated, and responsible An understanding of the rare opportunity to teach in a classroom with low student to staff ratios A desire to refine or continue to refine teaching skills, knowledge, and abilities to become or to remain an effective and powerful teacher! Requirements and responsibilities for Elementary Teacher includes, but is not limited to: Embrace Birch Grove Community School?s Mission Commit yourself fully to the 2026-2027 school year Implement appropriate school curriculum in compliance with the Minnesota state standards and benchmarks Initiate new and exciting additions to support classroom curriculum Engage in outdoor learning and experience, a focus for Birch Grove Maintain ongoing positive communication with parents through conferences, report cards, newsletters and other means Ensure timely completion of report cards, test scores, lesson plans, etc. Create and maintain relationships with individuals and organizations that can be integrated into classroom learning Build and maintain positive relationships/communications with students, parents, staff and the community Participate in the Quality Compensation Program Attend and participate in staff and IEP meetings Utilize time wisely to ensure preparedness for student contact time Bring energy and enthusiasm to the students? everyday Communicate with Special Education staff/School Director with appropriate student concerns/issues Participate in school programs and events Communicate often with the school Director concerning school and student status Attend the annual 3-day, 2-night trip to Wolf Ridge with your classroom alongside other school staff Other requirements and responsibilities may be added at the School Board/School Director discretion A full job description is available for Elementary Teacher.
