Saint Andrew Catholic School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Gr.7-8 ELA Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. As a Catholic school committed to academic excellence and faith formation, we are looking for an educator who will inspire students to grow intellectually and spiritually while fostering a love for academics.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Gr.7-8 level ELA curriculum, as well as other assigned subjects (i.e., one Math, one Science, etc.) to 7th and 8th grade classes
- Serve as the Grade 8 homeroom teacher, overseeing daily routines such as attendance, morning meetings, community-building, and teaching Gr.8 Religion class
- Support the academic, social, and spiritual development of Grade 7-8 students
- Communicate regularly with Grade 7-8 families regarding student progress and needs
- Collaborate with other middle school and intermediate teachers for planning and curriculum alignment
- Help students transition between intermediate and middle school expectations
- Develop engaging lesson plans that meet academic standards and promote critical thinking, integrating Catholic values into lessons
- Incorporate technology and hands-on learning experiences in the classroom
- Create a positive and supportive learning environment
- Assess and monitor student progress through various evaluation methods
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and school leadership to support student success
- Participate in school events, professional development, and faith-based activities
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, ELA or a related field
- Current State of Minnesota Teaching License (or willingness to obtain)
- Practicing Catholic in good standing with the Church
- Experience teaching Gr.7-8 students, preferably in a Catholic school setting
- Strong classroom management skills and ability to differentiate instruction

Work Commitment: Full time
Wage and Benefits: $45,000-$68,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience; Retirement Plan; Health, Dental and Vision Insurance; Life Insurance
