The Sisseton Public School District in Sisseton, SD is accepting applications for a Head Custodian/Facilities Director Starting date: Immediate QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in building maintenance, repair, and custodial operations. Experience with HVAC & boiler systems preferred. Ability to operate school-owned equipment (e.g., skid loader, tractor, vehicles). Knowledge of building systems, preventative maintenance, and safety procedures. Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office or equivalent). Strong verbal and written communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate?s degree or technical certification preferred. Valid driver?s license required. TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 12-month employment agreement, with personal, vacation, sick, and other leave, as well as a comprehensive benefits package. GENERAL FUNCTION AND SCOPE The Head Custodian / Facilities Director provides comprehensive leadership and oversight of all district facilities, grounds, custodial services, and maintenance operations. This position is responsible for supervising staff, managing daily operations, and ensuring all district buildings and grounds are safe, clean, and well-maintained. The Facilities Director leads budget development, material procurement, and contractor recommendation, while developing and implementing both short-term and long-range facilities and maintenance plans. This position also serves as the district?s designated Asbestos Coordinator and ensures compliance with all applicable safety and regulatory codes and requirements.
