Position: Accountant Reports to: Director of Finance and Operations Position Overview The Accountant reports to the Director of Finance and Operations and is responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger entries and audit preparation. Primary Responsibilities Prepares journal entries and ensures month end closing is completed within timelines given Reconciles general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial reporting Coordinates with development office to ensure gifts are accurately counted Ensures facility rental deposits and revenue are recorded appropriately Coordinates work papers and reconciliations for annual audit Manages accounts payable and company credit cards Prepares and distributes 1099s Manages student meal plans and lunch accounts Prepares bank deposits Records and posts all bank transactions Ensures account receivable payments are timely and accurately posted Initial contact for collection of overdue student accounts receivable Serves as contact with tuition insurance provider and coordinates claims with families & insurance company Manages business office petty cash, cafeteria, concessions & athletics petty cash Ad hoc reporting Physical Requirements Typical office environment physical demands Required Skills Bachelor?s degree and a minimum of 5 years general accounting experience Strong problem solving skills Thorough knowledge of applicable general ledger systems & procedures Strong writing and verbal communication skills Personal integrity, ability to work independently and with a team, with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to interact with employees, parents and vendors in a professional manner Salary range: $62,000 to $72,000 Candidates may apply here or contact employment@marshallschool.org for further information. Position: Accountant

Position Overview

Primary Responsibilities 

  • Prepares journal entries and ensures month end closing is completed within timelines given
