Start Your Online Application Now Teacher Job Description Salary Range: Per the Educator Agreement Schedule Start Date: August, 2026 Work Week: .5 FTE, Monday-Friday Location : Matoska Elementary Student Level: Elementary, K-5 Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and engaging Spanish Specialist Teacher (0.5 FTE) to inspire a love of language and culture in all students. This position offers the potential to add additional FTE depending on the candidates qualifications. As a specialist (similar to Art, Music, and Physical Education), this teacher will provide Spanish instruction to all students, creating a dynamic and interactive environment that builds foundational language skills and global awareness. The ideal candidate will bring energy, creativity, and a passion for language learning while supporting the development of internationally minded learners. Key Responsibilities Deliver Spanish language instruction to students across grade levels as part of the specialist rotation. Create a positive, inclusive, and interactive classroom environment where students feel confident taking risks in language learning. Build students'' foundational skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Spanish. Align instruction with district standards while incorporating IB principles and inquiry-based learning. Use games, movement, music, and conversation to make language learning engaging and meaningful. Participate in professional development and contribute to a collaborative school culture. Qualifications Bachelor''s degree in Spanish, World Language Education, or a related field. Valid Minnesota Teaching License in Spanish/World Language (or ability to obtain one). Strong proficiency in Spanish. Understanding of or willingness to learn International Baccalaureate (IB) practices. Strong classroom management and relationship-building skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience teaching elementary-aged students. Familiarity with IB, inquiry-based learning, or concept-driven instruction. Experience using interactive and communicative language teaching strategies (TPR, games, songs, etc.). Why Join Matoska?
