POSITION DETAILS Grade: 5 Subject: English Language Arts Teacher Start Date: 2026-2027 Full Time FTE: 1.0 ROLE OBJECTIVES The 5th Grade Language Arts Teacher posted at Stride Middle School will nurture a passion for reading and writing, enhancing students? mastery of language and literature. They will cultivate critical analysis, creative expression, and effective communication skills vital for academic success and personal growth . KEY DUTIES Develop and deliver engaging ELA lessons aligned to state and/or national standards. Build students? skills in reading comprehension, writing, grammar, and vocabulary. Facilitate discussions that promote critical thinking, text analysis, and effective communication. Assess student progress through a variety of methods and provide timely, constructive feedback. Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs, including students with special needs. Incorporate technology and instructional tools to enhance learning experiences. Maintain accurate records of student progress, grading, and attendance. Establish and maintain a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning. Collaborate with colleagues, including participation in Professional Learning Communities (PLCs). ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Participate in regular professional development, the school?s professional learning community and staff meetings to improve instruction. Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and other staff members to maximize effective instructional activities and build positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and all professional responsibilities. Demonstrate the standards for effective practices of teachers Any other assigned duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: BA Skills and Competencies: Strong knowledge of content, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and inspire students, and proficiency in using educational technology.
