School Social Worker
Full time – 2026-27 School Year
Benson Public Schools is seeking a professional and enthusiastic licensed School Social Worker.
Description: The School Social Worker provides direct and indirect social work services to students experiencing social, emotional and/or behavioral problems that interfere with their performance in school, and facilitates communication among school, home and community providers.
General Duties:
- Provide social work services to students on an IEP (behavior intervention, social skills, coping strategies, emotion identification and regulation)
- Be available to provide support to general education students on a regular basis
- Provide Social Emotional Learning opportunities to elementary classrooms
- Assist with Crisis Intervention and De-escalation (CPI training necessary) academic, social, and emotional development
- Facilitate groups focused on social skills, anger management, and conflict resolution
- Help to connect families with resources such as food, housing, mental health services, and county support
- Partner with administration, teachers, and parents to address attendance, academic, or behavioral issues
- Communicate and collaborate with families and county social workers on a regular basis to best support student needs
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Social Work (Licensed Graduate Social Worker/Licensed Clinical Social Worker)
- Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker preferred
- LSW/licensed School Social Worker
Salary: Annual salary range of $47,500 – 87,000
Pay will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
