Impact Coach
This position will be for the 2026/2027 School Year and will start on July 1, 2026.
HOPE is looking for two Impact Coach positions to be filled. One for Elementary - Grades PreK-5 and the other for Secondary - Grades 6-12.

ABOUT THIS ROLE

HOPE takes a holistic approach to social-emotional learning, prioritizing the identification of root causes behind student behavior. When schools intentionally dig deeper into behavior, strong partnerships with families become essential to supporting scholar success.
The Impact Coach plays a critical and highly relational role in inspiring and influencing positive student behavior across the school. This includes executing a comprehensive behavior framework grounded in restorative practices, recognition systems, and consistent expectations to drive meaningful student outcomes.
Behavior and social-emotional learning directly impact academic outcomes. All scholars should feel inspired to come to school, empowered to take ownership of their learning journey, and supported in becoming creative thinkers and contributors. The Impact Coach fosters a positive and inclusive school environment, ensuring students are engaged, supported, and held to high expectations, while also equipping teachers with the tools and strategies needed to implement school-wide behavior systems effectively.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Student Impact. Drive a scholar-centered approach where every student is known, identified, and supported through individualized behavioral strategies and culturally responsive practices. Ensure each scholar is positioned to achieve based on their unique needs and growth trajectory.
School-Wide Systems of Support. Play an integral role in building and sustaining a comprehensive, school-wide behavior system that supports academic achievement. This includes oversight of behavior expectations and support across all environments: classrooms, hallways, restrooms, lunchrooms, outdoor spaces, buses, arrivals, dismissals, and within the broader community. Provide ongoing training, coaching, and feedback to teachers on behavior strategies, restorative practices, recognition systems, and consistent implementation of consequences.
Data-Driven Practices. Utilize Infinite Campus to document all behavioral and social-emotional incidents with accuracy and consistency. Analyze data trends to inform decision-making, strengthen behavior systems, and drive continuous improvement in scholar outcomes.
Family Impact. Engage families as essential partners in addressing the root causes of behavior and supporting scholars'' social-emotional growth. Facilitate restorative conversations that include families, ensuring they are consistently engaged as collaborators rather than used as a punitive measure.
Home Visits. Lead efforts to increase home visits to better understand family dynamics and scholars'' experiences beyond the school setting. Use these insights to strengthen relationships, increase engagement, and support scholar success. Conduct home visits not only for students needing additional support, but also to build community, celebrate students, and reinforce positive connections.
Scholar Recognition. Lead the development and implementation of individual and school-wide recognition systems that reinforce and celebrate positive behavior, contributing to a strong and affirming school culture.
Empowerment & Inspiration. Serve as an extension of the School Counselor by inspiring and empowering scholars to reach their full potential and become leaders within their communities. Model positive behaviors, coordinate opportunities for guest speakers, and lead engaging, purpose-driven field trip experiences that broaden scholars'' perspectives.
School Safety. Lead and support school safety initiatives to ensure a secure and structured environment for all students and staff. Collaborate with school leadership to implement and monitor safety protocols and respond effectively to incidents.
Operational Support. Support daily school operations by monitoring student arrivals, dismissals, lunch periods, and field trips, ensuring safe, organized, and efficient transitions throughout the school day.
REQUIREMENTS
- A Bachelors in education, psychology, child development, social work or related field is highly desirable, but not required.
- Experience in DIRS, student behavior and annual reporting is required.
- At least seven (5) years of experience working in a school setting, especially in a leadership role and/or classroom teaching experience. Someone with previous Impact Coach and/or Dean of Student experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated record of supporting school-wide effort on student behavior and impact, academic achievement, and family engagement, particularly for diverse and multilingual learners.
- Experience with EDUClimber, FASTBridge, or similar data platforms strongly preferred.
- Experience with Hmong language programs, bilingual education, or multilingual learner programming preferred.
- Ability to partner with teachers and provide coaching and support to teachers regarding student behavior.
- Ability to do home visits and build relationships with families, students, and the community.
- Deep commitment to educational equity, cultural responsiveness, and HOPE''s mission and strategic priorities.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and community-engagement skills.
- Ability to interact effectively with scholars, families, and staff of diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Duties are performed in a school environment; school building is a multi-level building that has an elevator and is accessible. May involve movement throughout the building to support scholars in classrooms, common areas, hallways, and offices. Possible exposure to loud environments (e.g., hallways during passing periods, cafeteria, gymnasium). Some evening hours may be required for school events, family engagement activities, and cultural programs.
