Summer hours will may vary. Duties/Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Clean, scrubs, waxes, vacuum or sweeps and mops floors, stairs, walls in assigned area. Cleans bathrooms daily. Repairs all furniture, hardware, cabinets, lights, mechanical equipment and cleaning equipment. Performs maintenance to plumbing, heating, and electrical equipment not requiring an outside contractor. Strips, waxes, and seals floors. Assists as necessary with Food Service. Conducts ground maintenance including snow removal, painting, raking or other similar tasks. Locks and unlocks doors prior to start and closing of school. Sets up and cleans up equipment for sporting and special events. Repair sporting equipment. Daily and weekend building and equipment checks. Responds to student and staff requests. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements: Minimum HS diploma required Effective interpersonal skills to communicate with school personnel, students, parents and members of the community. Strong organizational and planning skills. Physical Job Requirements: Employee is continuously required to use hands and fingers to handle or feel, talk, and hear; frequently sits, stoops, kneels and/or crouches, reach with hands and arms in the performance of the job. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally; and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Additional compensation for educational credits can be granted that will range between $0.75 to $1.25 per hour. Additional compensation for this position can be granted upon completion of custodial certification can increase up to $3.25 per hour.
