Reporting Relationship: The Art Teacher reports directly to the Building Principal East Grand Forks, MN is a city with a population of approximately 9,000 and located in the heart of the Red River Valley in Northwest Minnesota. It borders Grand Forks, ND and is very close to the University of North Dakota and Northland Community and Technical College. The district''s K-12 enrollment is approximately 1900 students as well as a thriving preschool program. The district has four separate school buildings housing grades PreK-2, 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Position Summary: The Middle School Art Teacher provides engaging art instruction for students in grades 6?8, fostering creativity, artistic skill development, and self-expression. This position creates a positive classroom environment, aligns instruction with district and state standards, and supports student growth through a variety of artistic media and techniques. Essential Duties: Plan and deliver standards-based art instruction using a variety of media and techniques; create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment; assess and monitor student progress; manage classroom materials and equipment; maintain positive student behavior; and collaborate with colleagues and families to support student learning. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based art instruction for middle school students Teach a variety of art techniques, media, and concepts Create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment Assess student learning and provide feedback on progress Manage classroom materials, tools, and equipment responsibly Maintain appropriate student behavior and classroom expectations Display and celebrate student artwork when appropriate Collaborate with staff and communicate with families to support student success Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school activities Other: Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor''s degree in art education.
