POSITION DETAILS Grade: 5-8 Position: Long Term Substitute Middle School Teacher Start Date: Starting the week of April 27 through May 29, 2026 ROLE OBJECTIVES The Long Term Substitute Middle School Teacher will deliver engaging instruction across assigned subject areas, support continuity of learning, and foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student growth, critical thinking, and collaboration. KEY DUTIES Deliver and implement lesson plans aligned to state and/or national standards, following provided curriculum and pacing guides when available. Facilitate classroom discussions that promote student understanding and application of content, ensuring continuity of instruction during the teacher?s absence. Monitor and assess student progress using available tools and assignments, providing feedback to support learning. Utilize classroom technology and instructional resources to support student engagement and learning. Implement established curriculum plans consistent with school and district goals and objectives. Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, and conducive to learning. Follow existing plans and make reasonable instructional adjustments to support diverse learners, including students with special needs. Maintain accurate and complete records of student attendance, assignments, and progress in accordance with school procedures. Uphold and enforce established classroom management practices and school-wide behavior expectations. Collaborate with staff as needed and participate in meetings when appropriate or required during the assignment. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Principal or other administrators. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Work collaboratively and communicate professionally with school leadership and staff to support effective instruction and a positive school culture. Meet professional obligations by honoring schedules, deadlines, and responsibilities. Demonstrate standards for effective teaching practices. Perform any other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS Educational Qualifications: Bachelor?s Degree required Skills and Competencies: Strong instructional skills across content areas, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to engage and support middle school students, and proficiency in using educational technology. Position: Long Term Substitute Middle School Teacher
