Desired Qualifications: Valid Special Education licensure in Emotional/Behavioral Disorders (EBD) or Academic and Behavioral Strategist (ABS) preferred Demonstrated understanding of and experience using instructional best practices to engage elementary students in learning Experience working with elementary students with emotional, behavioral, and/or social regulation needs Job Summary: The certified special education teacher provides instruction and support to students who qualify for special education services under the category of emotional and behavioral disorders (EBD). Responsibilities include delivering small group instruction, supporting work completion, and teaching social-emotional regulation skills. The teacher collaborates regularly with general education staff and related service providers to meet individual student needs throughout the school day. In partnership with parents and school staff, the teacher develops and implements Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) designed to support student growth and access to the curriculum. Additional responsibilities include developing lesson plans, delivering instruction, and assessing both instructional effectiveness and student performance. The teacher monitors and interprets student progress and communicates regularly with parents and the IEP team regarding progress toward goals, as well as student strengths and areas for growth.
