POSTING #: 3537 The Sauk Rapids-Rice Public School District No. 47 is seeking an experienced and innovative educator to fill a leadership role as a behavior interventionist / special education lead teacher at the Rice Elementary School. Preferred candidates will have experience using technology in meaningful ways for teaching and learning, will have background in Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS). Located in Rice, MN, twenty minutes northwest from downtown St. Cloud and approximately an hour northwest of the Twin Cities, Rice Elementary School is the focal point in a growing area of Central Minnesota and provides quality programs to approximately 330+ students. Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools is committed to: - A culture of high quality and effective instruction - Partnerships and collaboration - Student and staff well-being - High student achievement - Stewardship of Resources - Equitable education Work Hours: 1.0 FTE (.8 FTE Behavior Interventionist & .2 FTE Special Education Lead Teacher) for 182 contract days, plus 5 extra days, for a total of 187 days beginning the 2026-2027 school year. Primary Responsibilities: - Assist with administrative duties - Serve as the building administrator when principal is absent - Manage student behavior proactively - Implement and strengthen behavior program with research based interventions, while providing support and training for staff and students - Anticipate and remain proactive when dealing with behavioral situations - Maintain confidentiality when dealing with student, staff and community situations - Effectively communicate with parents, staff, students and community members - Work with administration to assign and monitor caseloads - Assist with and participate in hiring personnel - Provide training for and supervision of paraprofessionals - Plan and facilitate staff training and inservices - Model effective behavior management techniques for students and staff - Assist with planning and implementing extended school year programs, including but not limited to Targeted Services - Monitor internal due process procedures Outstanding candidates will be: - Effective communicators - Thoughtful and deliberate decision-makers - Creative problem solvers with extraordinary relationship skills - Innovative and able to promote and implement quality programs - Motivating and positive with students, staff, and parents - A life-long learner and good role model - Knowledgeable in special education due process Qualifications: - Current Minnesota licensure in a elementary education and/or a special education field or ability to obtain licensure through the tiered licensure system and/or Out of Field Placement. - Skills desired include strong communication, classroom management, and organization. Preferred Qualifications: - Hold a Minnesota Teaching License with a Professional Administrative K-12 Principal endorsement (or enrolled in a current program working toward receiving this endorsement) Salary and Benefits: Salary based on the 2025-2027 Sauk Rapids-Rice Education Associations Master Agreement starting at $52,166 up to $97,326. Benefits based on full-time employment and may be pro-rated for part-time positions.
