The successful candidate will direct and assist the overall high school instrumental music program in conjunction with the ISD 192 music staff. The successful candidate will provide students with an opportunity to participate in extracurricular band activities and ensure compliance with all state and district requirements. Candidate will plan activities to achieve district, conference, region, and state recognition. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for a Tigers Athletics, Activities and Arts (TAAA) instrumental music stipend to support extra duty commitments outside of the duty day. You will also have an opportunity to apply for a position within our Marching Band program. Essential Functions: Direct high school instrumental performances including concert band, jazz band, lessons, sectionals, percussion ensemble, and other small ensembles; Teach or assist project-based instrumental classes or activities: Rock Band, Music Production, Introduction to Drumming, Intermediate Guitar, GarageBand, Music Theory, Music History, etc; Provide for band participation at extracurricular events, including concerts, solo/ensemble contest, pep band appearances, pep fests, and community events; Create lessons and learning environments that are appropriate for all students with varying level of skills; Assess students'' developmental, cognitive, and social needs, and provide developmentally appropriate instruction to meet those needs; establish differentiated instruction and expectations for students; Qualifications: B.A/B.S degree in teaching from an accredited institution or related field of teaching; candidates with Master''s degrees are preferred.
